A Landscape Erased
Witnessing the collapse of an ecosystem
On June 6, 2023, the destruction of the Kakhovka dam fundamentally altered the environment, leaving a profound impact on the local ecosystem and its inhabitants. This narrative examines the silent suffering of animals caught in the wake of catastrophe, illustrating that conflict extends far beyond human casualties and urban ruins. By documenting the disappearance of a living world, the project serves as a poignant reminder of the irreversible consequences of war on our shared natural heritage.
